Google Wave Recreates the Internet

Google Wave is practically the biggest thing since sliced bread, or that is at least the general opinion world-wide. It is like looking at what the internet would have been if it was created today with all the knowledge of the first model behind us.

The makers of this new Wave are Jens and Lars Rasmussen, who are the brothers behind the widely acclaimed Google Maps program. The brothers have managed to keep this under wraps only revealing its new system at last week’s Google I/O Developer Conference. In fact the brothers and entire Googleplex, have been keeping Wave quiet for nearly two years while it has been in development.

The brains behind the project addressed the question “why do we have to choose to operate in email or chat? Why can’t we operate it all together”? Google Wave is in essence a collaboration of ideas and interfaces combined together so that you can operate in all modes in one go rather than choosing between them.

Google Wave is still in its late development stage, and soon Google will be opening its doors to other manufacturers so that they can also work out how to use the interface, and how their products or services may be incorporated into the system. Until consumers are using it, the idea remains vague, but the industry is tipping it to be like making the internet again - just a much better version.
